PEACE III & SERC Anti-racism & Anti-Sectarianism Workshops

It's such a great pleasure to start this blog with the fantastic work of a group of SERC students here in Bangor.
North Down Borough Council and the EU Peace III programme have teamed up with us to offer a 7-session graffiti masterclass course.

We're teaching these local young adults to wheat paste,

 cut and use stencils,

spray paint
 roller paint and create texture.

and to gain confidence in their own artistic expression.

But it's not just messing about with paint.

We're tackling some serious issues within the framework of the respect and discipline needed to work with these materials.
Daily discussions about  anti-discrimination, anti-racism, anti-sectarianism and tolerance of others are hopefully bringing about a change in attitudes to our society.
Andy and I are SO proud of what the students have achieved in the just 2 1/2 days. They are all amazing. 3 cheers to them!

Tomorrow, we begin planning a huge wall mural with the group that will take pride of place at Project 24.....

And of course, we have to thank

&
We are proud to say that diversified technology company 3M support our art, graffiti and community work by providing 3M 4251 Maintenance Free Gas/Vapour and Particulate Respirators for those involved in our projects.

Thank you all.
